It’d be my passion and joy to be part of your team to energize developers in both new projects and long haul projects! I can bring the spark to your internal team, external partners, and marketing folks!
Your tastemaker on deck
Your game is your heart and soul. Let’s draw on funders and audiences that understand your passion. Together, we’ll craft bespoke communications to your partners and communities.
Tanya Kan is known for direction, gamedev, management, and marketing the narrative choice hacktivism game Solace State (2023, Steam and Xbox). It was Gamespot’s “favourite cyberpunk game of the year” at launch!
Through her professional acumen, she has received 13 grants, 2 awards, 90 press coverage, presented 39 talks, and exhibited at 55 expos and events.
Here’s how Tanya can work with you to bring your studio’s goals to life.

Management Experience
As Vivid Foundry’s Director and Executive Producer, I had the privilege of managing 23 diverse developers, with the majority from underrepresented backgrounds. It is my joy to foster a development environment that is eager to learn from each other. Let’s energize developers and partners to be spokespeople for your project!

Project Management
With 8 years producing at Vivid Foundry and a prior PM experience with Remington, I’ve used Jira, Confluence, Trello, Clickup and spreadsheets. I keep my team keyed to their strengths in meeting deliverables with sprints that synergize with the project needs and team communication style.

Pitch Decks and Admin Support
With 13 successfully funded grants and 2 fund prizes, writing reports and applications is naturally enjoyable to me. Professional writing, pitch decks, charts, schedules, budgets, and disseminating market and business research? That’s speaking my language!

Business Development
I enjoy building regular rapport with the industry including studio leads, funders, platforms, and publishers, and received years of bizdev grants to sustain international networks. While emails and updates are part of the engagement, I also schedule meetings to share knowledge!
Development Skills
Since 2012, I have worked in professional roles in-engine and in development. I am dynamic at balancing dependencies between technical developers, artists, testers, and marketers; working on my own deliverables; and ensuring that all team members’ work can shine.
Diversity of narrative experience in games is at the heart of my work!
“Though also visually stunning, Solace State’s beauty lies in its story – a compelling adventure about queer people of color being drawn into a conspiracy that threatens to plunge an entire country into a dystopian nightmare. It’s a game that is both thoughtful and complex, encouraging you to stop and weigh the cost of rebellion against the risk of corporate hegemony, and it’s also one of my favorite games of 2023.”
– Jordan Ramée, Gamespot
Marketing Foundations
A good game has to reach its people. I am here to help build trust and excitement with your audience.
As a jack-of-all-trades, I can execute your marketing and engage with businesses and trade events that are crucial to your game’s success.

I worked closely with Gary Kings, Trailer Editor, and Vanille Velasquez, Voice Actor, for a Solace State trailer that focuses on the narrative conflict. I managed VA auditions. I also coordinated with ID@Xbox for a marketing push on IGN channels.

Testimonial
I worked under Tanya at Vivid Foundry on the project Solace State and without a doubt, she is an exceptional leader, well organized, and under her management nothing went unaccounted for. On top of keeping the project on schedule, Tanya always made time to offer guidance and direction, all while juggling a million other tasks. Additionally, Tanya’s depth of knowledge on game development allows her a greater understanding of her team as well as the hurdles that may come into play.
